Christina Gigliotti – independent Curator. In 2021 July, she curated the exhibition “Wild Filly Story” by Swedish artist Josefin Arnell at the project space “Editorial”. Because of that, we share Gigliotti’s literary recomandations:
“I recently read this book called Metazoa, which is about the evolution of ‘the mind’ as we know it, in animals and humans. I’ve been interested in animal consciousness for a while, and this interest contributes significantly to the type of artistic practices I seek out. Josefin’s exhibition explores subjectivities of multiple characters, namely human, horse, and dog. Humans yearning to become other animals feels even more understandable after reading this book.
I also just finished Ice by Anna Kavan. The main character is also longing for an enigmatic, ghost of a woman. There’s violence and misunderstanding, frustration and unfulfilled desire in this story. “
